Taking a break

Well, I gotta go back to class on Monday, so I might have to take a bit of a break from blogging....

Winter

Well, winter has finally really arrived here in Toronto. I mean were we really expecting it to be balmy right through to spring? C'mon, this IS Canada, and it IS January! We still have February and March to go too. Old man winter has certainly arrived with a vengance, or is it just that I had gotten so used to the + teens C during December, that it seems to be so bitterly cold right now? No I think -18 C not including the wind chill is pretty cold, even for the heartiest of Canadians.

Magazines

Maybe for one of my new year's resolutions, I should start reading more. Not just books, because I think I have had it with books, but magazines. Health and fitness magazines, home improvement magazines, hobby magazines..... there's a lot to be learned from magazines. I actually feel less burdened when I'm reading a magazine compared to a book. I guess I'm more of a visual guy, because the pictures really help to keep me interested rather than just a bunch of words. Go figure. Or maybe it's very logical to expect that. I have been reading textbooks and scientific journals for so many years, that I don't really find words that pleasurable as most avid readers. I find pleasure in taking a break from words and letting my mind just enjoy some good visual stimulation. Maybe I'm just lazy or burned out. Daily Random Stuff II

Well, it's already 3 days into the new year, and I've been thinking about resolutions. Do I have any for this year, or will I stick with my perpetually ongoing resolution of not making any resolutions when the new year comes along? Hmmm.... there are a few things that I would like to do this year though. First and foremost, I need to stop spending so much time on my blog, other peoples' blogs, and the internet in general! December was great, I slacked off so much that it wasn't funny, but I need to clamp down now. I have less than 2 months to prepare for my next exam, and I'm starting to feel nervous. Well, I think I got most of the blogging out of my system these past few months. I finally closed my friendster blog, which was not really a waste since nobody even read that blog! I have however joined a whole lot of memes. Almost every day of the week has been covered. Wednesdays are wordless, Thursdays are for thirteening, and Saturdays are for photohunting. Gattina has been getting me to blog about Cats on Tuesdays, and I've decided to blog about Mushu on Mondays. So that just leaves Friday and Sunday. Both should be days of rest for my blogs :) I think I'll just stick with this one resolution for now. So I better go and study for my exam!

Well here's to 2007! Time really flies by, I can't believe we are seven years into the twenty-first century already. Wasn't it just yesterday that we were freaking out about Y2K? I remember half expecting the world to explode or something and half expecting nothing to happen. Well at least one half was right! Anyways, I'd like to wish y'all a very happy and prosperous new year!
