Watching the price of oil skyrocket has been frustrating and interesting at the same time. While oil continues to go up, it seems that the price of gold has been going down. It was pretty close to touching the $1000 mark, but seems to have slipped a little. The price of silver on the commodities market, on the other hand has proven to be more consistent. It's worth considerably less, but it seems to hover around the same value. Like gold, it's been considered an important commodity throughout history, and would be a wise investment, in these times of a falling dollar, as well as being a more affordable alternative to investing in gold. In fact every year since 1990, world demand for silver has exceeded annual production. The present supply of silver bouillon are also low and rapidly shrinking. The Monex Deposit Company (MDC), allows you to purchase silver, or even gold and other precious metals as an investment. The Monex companies have been America’s silver and precious metals investment leader for the past 30 years. You can purchase silver in coin or ingot form. In this time of economic uncertainty, investing in silver and precious metals may prove effective in diversifying investments. If you're looking to invest in silver, then check out the MDC website.

Growing A Loofah Sponge?
The first time I saw a Bird House Gourd (Lagenaria siceraria), I thought they were pretty cool. I mean you all know my fascination with interesting plant species. Especially ones that produce useful fruit. You can't really eat a Bird House Gourd, or maybe you can, I'll have to try it, but turning them into bird houses should be interesting and fun for the kids too.
The vines of the bird house gourd grow 15 to 20 feel, and require a sturdy fence or trellis on which to grow. Each vine may produce up to 12 gourds. The seeds should be planted in full sun, 1/2" deep in well drained, slightly acidic, soil with plenty of composted material. The vines require a long, hot growing season of about 100 days. When the vine reaches 10-15 feet long, the tip should be pinched off so that the plant will send out side branches. The female flowers, and subsequently the gourds, will be produced on the side branches.
Watering should be stopped in the fall, and the gourds should be left on the vines until frost or the stems turn brown. After the vine has died, the gourds should be cut with an inch or two of stem left on. They should be stored in a dry warm place on a screen or hanging. Drying is complete when the gourd is light in weight and you can hear the seeds rattle when shanken. Gourds that become soft and start rotting should be discarded.

Stinky Celebrities
I was just watching MTV and they were talking about how Orlando Bloom's Victoria's Secret model girlfriend was saying how Orlando Bloom lacks in self-hygiene. Apparently he wears his jeans, shirts, sweater and socks for days at a time before washing them. Hey I do that sometimes, maybe not socks though...hehe... luckily I don't have a body odor problem. Ann is so lucky to have me, I've never had to use deodorant no matter how sweaty I get. But I guess most people can't be lucky like me hehe... Anyways, I had to google it and found that some of the top smelly celebrities include Christina Aguilera, Cameron Diaz, Brad Pitt, Robin Williams, Russel Crowe, and more. Funny coz they all usually look so good looking and good smelling.
